ABOUT BARB

Barbara Gaponoff Berson, RN, MPH, CHES, is a registered nurse with her Masters Degree in public health, a master yoga instructor and educator.  Barbara has been teaching yoga for more than twenty years to students ranging from ages four to one hundred.  Her wide range of experience includes taping for an episode of Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood.  Her pregnancy and yoga class at Missouri Baptist Medical Center was featured on Show Me St. Louis.

Barbara has spent time doing volunteer work in India, “the source” of yoga, including work with the late Mother Teresa. She has taught Yoga from UCLA in California to Hebrew University in Jerusalem.

Currently Barbara teaches at the Edward Jones YMCA , gives private yoga lessons and is frequently a guest teacher at many schools in the St. Louis area.. Her popular chair yoga classes are featured at many senior centers including; The Gatesworth, Brookdale Creve Coeur, Del Mar Gardens, Brooking Park, and The Sarah Community. Integrating her medical background she has guided patients as well as physicians, nurses and other caregivers and in the practice of yoga at Barnes-Jewish, Missouri Baptist, St. Lukes, and DePaul Medical Centers.
